2025: Our impact

We’ve had a great time at the restaurant with lots of small actions adding up to big impact. Here’s our 2025 summary:

Food Waste

2025 was the year new government rules required larger restaurants and most businesses to separate food waste from other rubbish. We’ve been doing this from day one.

This year, we diverted over a tonne of food waste from landfill, preventing the equivalent of two or three petrol cars’ worth of CO₂ from entering the atmosphere.

Coffee Mornings

We hosted nine coffee mornings and a special Christmas dinner. After the overnight closure of East London Cares, a charity connecting older and younger neighbours, we stepped in to host free monthly gatherings to help combat loneliness in the older community.

Compassionate Care

We fully support the team at St Joseph’s Hospice, who provide specialist palliative care to people in East London living with life-limiting illnesses. This year, we donated £1,250 to support their work.

Organic Wine On Tap

We sell wine on tap from refillable 20-litre kegs provided by Sustainable Wine Solutions. This closed-loop system reduces waste and lowers our carbon footprint.

In 2025, we poured 1,900 litres of organic wine from refillable kegs, replacing 2,562 single-use bottles. Each glass poured has a 96% lower carbon footprint compared to traditional bottled wine.

Team

We’re a small team of 11, and at our busiest point this year we had 13 team members. While four people moved on, the heart of the team has stayed strong.

Of the current team (excluding us, Sarah and Rich), three have been with us for over three years, four for over two years, one for over a year, and one is a few months in but fits like a glove. Having such a high proportion of long-standing team members in an industry known for high turnover means a lot to us. It reflects the care, trust, and commitment we’ve built together.

Meat-Free Meals

This year we served over 36,000 veg-centric pizzas. By offering delicious meat-free options, we help guests reduce their meat intake, supporting healthier, more sustainable eating habits and lowering the carbon footprint of their meals.

Happy Guests

We received nearly 600 Google reviews, averaging 4.8 out of 5. Guests consistently highlight our welcoming team, delicious food, vegetable-focused menu, and sustainable practices.

Proudest Press Mention

Ranked 3rd in @TimeOut ’s roundup of London’s most sustainable restaurants, a recognition that reflects the team’s hard work and commitment to sustainability.

Energy

We run on 100% renewable energy. This year we used 1,755 kWh, avoiding around 363 kg of CO₂ emissions. That’s roughly the same as taking a small car off the road for 1,100 miles or the carbon absorbed by 18–20 mature trees. Using renewable electricity makes a real, tangible difference for the climate.

Here’s to more impact in 2026!
